Dublin Walk: Merrion Square to The Monto

A sunny day out in Dublin - ideal for a stroll and discovering history. Our little group met at the Oscar Wilde Memorial Sculpture in Merrion Park. Here we started to hear about Oscar Wilde and his wife Constance Lloyd.

From here we departed towards the Custom House building, then over to the area historically known as The Monto, which lies in the area between Foley Street, Buckingham Street Lower, Railway Street and James Joyce street.

Our fabulous tour guide Geraldine Duignan, led and brought to live this walk with stories and insights on the places, people and characters of the time and their history. Thank you Ger.

PS: To read up on the history of The Monto, head over to Wikipedia and discover some Dublin History.
