German Language Essay Competition now closed. And the winners are...
The Irish Austrian Society are delighted to announce the winners of the 2021/22 25th German Language Essay competition.
The winners are:
SENIORS

The winners were announced and prizes awarded at a reception at the Residence of the Austrian Ambassador, Dr. Thomas Nader. The Ambassador and his wife Ingrid welcomed all guests into their home for this occasion. In his speech, Dr. Declan Downey, President of the Irish Austrian Society, praised the achievement of the students and encouraged them to proceed on their path of achievement. He also thanked all teachers and parents for their support.
During the ceremony, Connor Gannon gave a speech providing the student perspective of participating in the competition and how he finds it a rewarding experience.

The Irish Austrian Society also thank their sponsors of the competition, namely the Austrian Embassy, Duncan Grehan & Partners Solicitors, the Ski Club of Ireland and Austrian Company SONNENTOR.
This brings to a close the 25th Anniversary German Language Essay Competition, which saw a record number of entries with 420 essays submitted from over 30 schools.
We also wish to thank all students, teachers, principals and parents for their tremendous support over the years and this year in particular. All participating students will receive a certificate of achievement as well as token of appreciation from SONNENTOR.
