Many congratulations to all the winners of the Essay Competition 2025 who were announced at a ceremony in Dublin today.

At a ceremony hosted by Austrian Ambassador Melitta Schubert, the Society today announced the winners of the 2025 Irish Austrian Society German language essay competition.
Students, Parents and Teachers together with other guests were greeted by the Ambassador Melitta Schubert and President Dr. Declan M Downey. They highlighted the scope, importance as well as historic aspects of the German language spoken across many countries in Europe including Ireland. Both also commented on the increasing use and relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which was used in 60% of entries to this competition, which in line with current competition rules could not be considered for the prize.
The Winners presented today are:
