Many congratulations to all the winners of the Essay Competition 2026 who were announced at a ceremony in Dublin on the 7th May 2026.

At a ceremony hosted by Austrian Ambassador Melitta Schubert, the Society today announced the winners of the 2026 Irish Austrian Society German language essay competition. Students, Parents and Teachers together with other guests were greeted by the Ambassador Melitta Schubert and Vice President Ulrike Schoeller. They highlighted the scope, importance as well as historic aspects of the German language spoken across many countries in Europe including Ireland. Both also commented on the increasing use and relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
